Some words for the history
All about Agios Nikolaos
Traces of prehistoric settlements have been found in the wider area of Agios Nikolaos. Northeast of today's settlement, at Pyrgos, developed in the classical years the settlement Siggos from which the Siggitikos Gulf, later called Mount Athos, separated the peninsulas of Sithonia and Athos, took its name. The modern village was formed by the Union of two settlements: Agios Nikolaos, where refugees from Mani lived, and Agios Georgios, inhabited by local Chalkidikians.
According to others, the name is due to the monastery of Saint Nicholas Chrysokamaros, a dependency of the Monastery of Xenophontos of Mount Athos, which was located in Pyrgos. The residents of Agios Nikolaos participated in the revolution of 1821, among them distinguished the fighters of the revolution of 1821 Ioannis (Yiannakis) Papa, Triantafyllos Asteriou, Stergios Pavlou, Dimitrios Stergianou, Athanasios Dimitriou and others[3]. Location Pyrgos, northeast of Agios Nikolaos The inhabitants also participated in the Tsami Karatasu movement in 1854. The area was liberated from the Ottomans in 1912.
The residents of Agios Nikolaos are engaged in agriculture, animal husbandry, fishing, beekeeping, while the activity in the field of tourism is also developed. There is a kindergarten, a two-seater kindergarten, a seven-seater Primary School, a Middle School and a Unified High School. The football team of the village (Asteras Agios Nikolaos) plays in the second local division of EPS Chalkidiki. A cultural association is active under the name "Vourvourou".
It has a Health Center, a police station, a post office and a Community Hall, a Volunteer Fire Protection Group of Agios Nikolaos

Testimonials
Wonderful apartment, nice owner. Very close to city center but calm and silent at the same time. Glad that i made this choice and i want to go again next year if it is not fully booked. Sunny and clean beaches with a sense of safety for all the kids. Waters have depth so be careful with swimming. Perfect stay, nothing to complain!

We really liked the place, and be more specific the huge balcony and the really cozy atmosphere. I highly recommend everyone to go and stay there for at least 3 days to relax. The town is small but very live, with lots of activities for kids and safe place. The pricing is rather cheap for what they give, so it's a value for money stay. No complains at all.

The house is in a very nice location, near the village center (1 min walking distance). The parking lot is in front of the house (in the yard), and your car will not be on the street which is narrow. Everything in the house is new. Beds are very comfortable, with lots of pillows. The kitchen is fantastic, everything that you need is there, coffee machine, juicer, tost maker, huge fridge with freezer, owen. There is a brand new portable grill outside. The air condition is sufficient for the house (1 huge inverter unit above the entry door). Cleaning is done every 3rd day, you will receive new clean towels and bed linens. Outside, there is a huge terrace with lots of space for dining. The host was very kind and we really enjoyed our stay. The village is live, but not crowded. There are few taverns, and every friday there is live music, so it is very fun.
